ActivitiesThe Netherlands Malacological Society (NMV) organises yearly various activities: Twice a year there is a full day meeting for members with a programme of lectures, sometimes in combination with a field trip. These days offer good possibilities to exchange experiences with other members and to get help on identifying your shells. During the spring meeting also the yearly "general assembly of members" is held.
Several times a year the NMV organises day trips to nature areas in The Netherlands. Once a year there is a weekend excursion. Recently we visited for example the Drentse Aa, Carnisser Grienden, Blauwe Kamer, Fort Abcoude, Ameland and the Hondsbosse Zeewering near Petten. The weekend excursions went to Zeeland, Schiermonnikoog and Texel. For more information on excursions or ideas for future destinations please consult the excursion committee.
Every two years the NMV organises a two-days International Shell Show and Seminar. We offer an interesting programme with lectures, presentations by members and a market with shells, books and collector's items and utilities. For abstracts and pictures of the 6th International Shellshow in 2004 click here. Occasionally other activities are organised, like identification days or practical classes. For an actual overview of planned activities and further information, please consult the NMV Agenda (in Dutch only). Malacological Agenda NetherlandsNearly every week an activity with a malacological scope is organised. In the
